As someone who gravitates toward the color navy, this sheath dress was a must have addition to my wardrobe. Its subtle pattern and ruffle waist embellishment really elevates this simple dress design. The pattern on this dress reminds me of something from my mother’s closet, giving it a slight vintage feel.

I paired it with a shorter crop cardigan and a classy soft mint purse. The shorter cardigan helps keep the shape of the dress visible without loosing the waistline. A regular/longer cardigan would drown the dress as well as shorten the legs. The lighter mint purse adds a dash of contrasting color to this look. Isn’t it such a sweet color?!

Can you guys spot what’s different in this last photo? Mid-way through this shoot, it started snowing! It’s March… winter just doesn’t want to go away this year!

  1. Not only are these great photos of you, but the dress is beautiful! It really does have a great shape – I’m glad you didn’t hide it behind a full cardigan or heavier coat – although it would also look amazing under a basic buttoned blazer in navy. The purse was a nice touch, too.

  2. The dress is very lovely and you can choose to dress it up or down, depending on where you’re going. The mint purse sure is a nice touch, I love it.

  3. What a beautiful look! Love that the ruffles add a little extra interest while still maintaining a classic and sophisticated look. Your style is spot on!

  4. I love love love this look! Navy and mint are among my favorite color combos and I actually wore them together yesterday!
