Sometimes, the best way to slow down is to stop whatever you are doing and appreciate the things around you. It’s the simple things in life that we often forget to acknowledge. We get so caught up in the things we have to do, the plans we’ve committed to, and the expectations people have of us, we often forget how important self-time is.

We live in a very visual world where many of us spend much time capturing the beauty around us. Especially with technological advances, and how taking a photo is so convenient with the cell phone, we often spend more effort trying to capture the perfect shot rather than live in the moment. I myself am definitely guilty of this. We have this whole live scene in front of us, yet we choose to watch it through this miniature screen. We’re quite interesting creatures I must say.

Vancouver is absolutely beautiful, both day and night. The city view is one of my favourites, one that I would never get tired of. This is one of my favourite ways to unwind and just destress. It’s quite a sight and fresh air always feels lifting.

Here’s a shot looking downwards from the balcony. I must say it made me quite nauseated the first few times I looked down. I have definitely overcome that oozy feeling now.

  1. beautiful view ! I love looking outside of window so every time I am looking for new apartment of even hotel look I always need to make sure it has nice view

  2. I am the same way with my camera. I love to seek out those interesting angles and capture the little details that make some of my favorite cities so beautiful. It’s hard to put the camera away and just soak up all that beauty, especially now that I blog about my travels. You are lucky to have such a beautiful view. Enjoy the loveliness of everyday life! 🙂

  3. This is beautiful. You’re right that so many times we pass by so much beauty in each of our days because we are constantly on the go. We need to take time each day to breathe and take it all in, all the awe around us.
